Cliff Drysdale Tennis has been selected to manage tennis operations at The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara, a luxury resort set on the Pacific coast of Central California. Luis Vallecillo has been named Director of Tennis, effective immediately. Programming will begin on a limited basis with an emphasis on safe-play and social distancing.
With 78 acres of oceanfront property, including two miles of natural beach, The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Banta Barbara offers an expansive sun-drenched setting with endless vistas of sea and sky. The resort features innovative and artful design that is in keeping with the intimacy and aesthetics of a Mediterranean village. Unwind at an award-winning 42,000-square-foot spa and fitness center or relax beside one of three zero-edge swimming pools and 26 private cabanas. The resort's 358 newly-renovated guestrooms and signature suites artfully infuse luxurious interiors with modern technologies for a true sense of comfort. Additional resort amenities include a new oceanfront restaurant, a Foley wine tasting room, and the adjacent Sandpiper Golf Club. The tennis facility features four Har-Tru clay courts, a pro shop and players’ lounge.

Luis Vallecillo, originally from Ensenada, Mexico, has extensive tennis resort experience, including his most recent position as Junior Program Director at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation in Florida. Vallecillo competed collegiately at Howard Payne University before coaching stints at the world renowned John Newcombe Tennis Ranch (TX), and Omni La Costa Resort & Spa (CA).

Tennis programs at The Ritz-Carlton will follow current Cliff Drysdale Tennis Safe Play protocols, and have been adjusted to ensure the safety of all members, guests and staff. Low-ratios on court and new sanitation procedures will ensure that players can enjoy tennis while maintaining proper social distancing.
