Unique Grass Court Programming Featured at Central Wisconsin Destination
Rome, WI (April 16, 2019) — Cliff Drysdale Tennis has named Robert Wright Sand Valley Resort’s Director of Tennis, beginning in June 2019. Sand Valley features world class golf and tennis facilities, located in Rome, Wisconsin.
“We are thrilled to welcome Robert Wright into the Sand Valley family,” said general manager Glen Murray. “His significant experience will bring a wealth of knowledge to our growing tennis program at Sand Valley.”
Originally from Hertfordshire, United Kingdom, Wright is an LTA-certified teaching pro with more than a decade of coaching experience. Since joining CDT in early 2016, Wright has held many key roles at resorts across the country, including the Omni Amelia Island Plantation, Stratton Mountain Resort and Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa. Most recently, Wright served as Director of Tennis at the Inn at Perry Cabin, a luxury resort in St. Michaels, Maryland.
“I’m honored to join the Sand Valley team,” said Wright. “It’s a truly unique tennis experience to play tennis amidst the sand dunes of central Wisconsin.”

Tennis programming at Sand Valley will include daily clinics and lessons alongside special events, camps, tournaments and mixers. Instruction will focus on technique and strategy tailored for grass court tennis, which includes an emphasis on the serve, return and volley. Resort guests can book courts at no charge, and ball persons are available for $10 per hour.
